Pocket Letter

Today I'm back with a pocket letter created for ICR Challenge - ICRCSUM01.

So here it is :)

I've used golden and red glitter cards for the most part of it. Embellishments are punched out - used both positive and negatives :) I've also used some sequins and pearls to add some more glitter to the glitter cards :)

I totally love the shine on these pockets! Here is a video where you can see them clearly.

Card in a box - Butterflies

Hello All,

I'm back now with a card in a box - fluttering with colorful and beautiful butterflies. Here it is!

To start with, I made the base of the box card using black cardstock. To know how to make it, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube, I chose the one below.
Card in a box - Youtube

I stamped 3 kinds of butterflies from Martha Stewarts stamps using Versafine Onyx Black ink on Beilo cardstock. I then colored the butterflies using Fuji transparent watercolor folios.

The lovely butterflies were then fussy cut, and I applied a coat of mod podge to get a shiny effect. Once dry, I added some pearls to the body of the butterflies. That added a pretty interest :) Here are a few close up step by step pics!

I've used a golden shade invitation card to cut out strips and adhered the butterflies to them. Once the butterflies are stuck to the base, I've embellished the other sides using various patterned papers, and added a few butterfly stickers to go with the theme. I've also added borders using matching blue patterned washi tape. The front panel has cut out circles, along with stamped and fussy cut sentiments 'For You' and 'Sending you Smiles'. The card is wrapped using a blue satin ribbon and a few punched out butterflies too :)

This card was made for my partner Uma in ICR Swap for the month of May.

A Wedding Memory!

Hi All,

Today I'm here with one of my new creations - an idea to preserve a wedding invitation card. Upcycle the invitation and present to the couple :)

So here is the invitation I received from one of my teammates for his wedding.

I just fell in love with the colors and the texture of this card, that I wanted to make something out of this :) What better idea can I get than make a card out of this and present to the newly weds? :)

So I made a box out of the red main card. Added a bow to add some interest :)

Using the yellow envelope and the inner card, I made 3 pages and bound them to a book. I used the small stamps from HOTP for the pages. The swirls are repeatedly stamped for the first page to provide a border.  I then stamped the Congrats sentiment and added the name of the bride and the groom, fussy cut from the invitation. I also added the swastik from the red card, after running it through a punch to get the rotating wheel shape.

For the second page. Love sentiment is repeatedly stamped using distress ink to provide a tone-on-tone background. I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and added the punched out image from the red card.

And for the third and last page, I used the heart stamp from the same stamp set, and added my wishes :)

The back of the last page holds the punch out from the card again.

First Mini Album

Hello All,

This time I'm here with one of my firsts again - a Mini Album.
It is a treasure box of my daughter's lovely expressions :)

I referred to the tutorial by Dr. Sonia here to make the simple and quick mini album. All you need is just one 12x12 patterned paper! Do check out her blog!

I embellished the pages with different flat and 3D stickers. For the front page, I used a golden net I had saved from a garland and a pink flower sent to me by Rhizwana :)

On to my album, pictures speak more than words :)

Here are the inside pages.

I also made a matching box out of wedding invitations to hold this treasure :) Yet to embellish the box though :)

My First Shaker Card - Framed

This card is special for 2 of my 'first's :)

  1. Featured Artist! I'm too honored to be considered for this wonderful initiative
  2. Shaker card - A special mention requires a special card, my first shaker card!

Thanks a lot Uma for this opportunity to be featured in your blog. It is really a great initiative and an awesome motivation for crafters like me :)

Please do check out the blog post here and leave some love :)

Onto the card,

I took black cs for my base, and scored the front side to add a little texture. Then I took another black panel, cut out a circle in the middle using rotary cutter. I attached a piece of acetate to the inner side, and now this gives my window for the shaker.

I then cut out small pieces of foam tape and stuck around the circle. Added foam tape to the corners of the panel as well, filled the window with some colorful sequins and attached the panel to the base cs. There goes my shaker!!

To add some interest, I cut out a golden hollow circle and framed it around the acetate using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped on vellum using versamark, heat embossed using gold and black embossing powders. It is then fussy cut and attached to the base.

The card is ready :)

Linking the card to the below challenges,

Inspired by Manu Gupta's project - used the elements
  • Vellum
  • Heat embossing
  • Sequins
  • Stamps - for the sentiment "Surprise" and the tag border

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like my card! Do let me know your feedback.
Have a nice day :)

My First ATC - Summer

I'm back with a new creation this time, my first ever ATC (Artist Trading Card)!

I'm part of the Artist Trading Card Club (India) on Facebook and this month's theme was summer, along with the matching color board below, using 2 or more colors.

So, here goes my ATC :)

I used a pink card as base and made a pocket out of it. For the front, I used a patterned paper from the DCWV Sweet stack, that matched with the color board and depicting ice creams. I also found the Fruity sentiment with those lovely watermelons in the same stack. I've fussy cut them and attached to the cover using foam tape. This has some glitter on top which isn't visible on the pic, but is really good in reality!

I then created an insert, a small tag and stamped the borders using a stamp from MME - Lost and Found stamp set. I used Picked Raspberry distress ink on the pink cs to get a tone on tone effect. The sentiment is handwritten along with a fussy cut 'Delicious' embellishment. Added satin ribbon to the insert and there it is! My ATC is ready! :)

Bielo from Craft Shop

I received this awesome Bielo cardstock from The Craft Shop as part of their birthday celebrations!
Here is a simple card that I tried.

I stamped Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry distress inks onto my craft sheet, misted with water and placed the cardstock on the sheet. The colors blended well to produce different shades and there goes my background!

Then I've stamped and colored balloons. I stamped some stars using the same distress ink and distressed the corners using blue. Completed it with a stamped sentiment.

The cardstock is really good to use with distress inks and I love the crisp sentiment! Thank you Craft Shop and I've ordered my set of Bielo from you :)

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like my card! Do let me know your feedback.
Have a nice day :)
