Party Cake

Hello,

Second card for this month, it is using a technique I've always wanted to try, but never did bcs of my laziness :P So this one is using the Emboss Resist and Ink Smooching technique

One of the weeks of ICR Septorials had this tutorial and I didn't want to miss it this time. Here is my card.

For the background, I've used the border stamp from My Mind's Eye - Lost and Found stampset. I stamped them repeatedly using Versamark ink onto a watercolor paper and embossed using Rangers White embossing powder. I then used different colored distress inks and smooshed them onto the panel. The panel is then mounted on to textured pink cs.

The cake and sentiment are from Mudra - Let's Party stampset. I just love this set! I stamped them using Versafine Onyx Black ink, colored the cake using distress inks and Fuji transparent folios. I've fussy cut the cake and sentiment. Added glossy accents on the cake and on the sentiment to make it more shiny. Adhered the cake and sentiment onto the panel using foam tape.

  1. Wow there are so many great techniques here, thank you for sharing them with me. I can't believe your sentiment is glossy accents, I had to re-read your walk-through to make sure I hadn't missed a heat embossing step. Thanks for joining the Cake challenge at Moving Along With the Times this week! xJessie
