Diwali Squash Card - Guest Designer at Nakshathra Designz

Hello!

This is going to be a special post :) I'm so excited to be a Guest Designer at Nakshathra Designz! Thank you so much Aksh for this opportunity :) Check out the blog post here and do leave some love :)

I'm going to share a Diwali project created using the 'Sparkling Diwali' patterned paper stack. The designs are so festive and perfect for the occasion, they get you into the mood of Diwali so early :) And these papers are super thick and perfect for cards and projects that are sturdy!

Onto my project, I tried a squash card for the first time. It is a very simple and interactive card. I followed a couple of tutorials from YouTube and it is easy to make as well. I made the base of the squash card using red textured cardstock.

I wanted the card to be sparkling with colors symbolic to the festival, and hence used almost all the designs of pp from the stack :) I've used the diecut sheets for the sentiments. I've also stamped sentiments from Mudra's Crackers stampset - 'Have a Blast' and the one in Tamil that says 'Iniya Deepavali Nalvaazhthukkal', translating to 'Happy Diwali Wishes' :) I love this first Tamil stampset, as it gives a personal touch to the card :)

For the cover of the card, I've used the diyas pp and the diya from the diecut sheet, and attached them using foam tape. Bordered with pearls to add some interest. And the card is done :) Simple and easy!

Linking the card to,

Colors from the palette are in the pp used, and sentiments are stamped from the Crackers stampset and Deepam tamil stampset
