Explosion Pop-up Card

Hello,

Today I have a special card to share with you all - one that I made for my daughter's 3rd birthday, an explosion pop-up card!

The main base is prepared using pink colored metallic cardstock. For the front background, I've used a diecut from Altenew Codec cover die on green polka dots paper from the Papericious Pretty Basics collection. For the bottom flap, I've used the same patterned paper along with a pink floral washi tape.

It is topped with a matching green diecut and the sentiment 'Make a Wish' is a 3D sticker from Kaisercraft. I love the sparkle and dimension on it, sorry not able to capture the shine in the pic!

On opening the card, it explodes! :)

I've used a green patterned paper from wrapping paper book for the exploding folds. It is neither too thick nor too thin and perfect for creating the folds.

The inside has a layered popup cake studded with pink stars :) To top the cake, I've a candle cut from another Papericious patterned paper and attached using a slit on the top layer of the cake. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is stamped using Versafine Onyx black ink from Mudra's Let's Party stampset. A few green stars and 2 tweety stickers embellish the top part.

Did you notice the 'Pull' part? Ya, there is a surprise element hidden! :) I loved to include a surprise pocket that holds the message for my daughter :)

For the lower part of the inside, I've used a Celebrate 3D sticker from the same Kaisercraft pack and a pink lace to decorate. The card has a magnetic closure mechanism at the bottom. To cover the magnetic portion, I've used a green watercolored polka dots patterned paper from Dress My Craft.
