Wall Decor - Upcycled Sweet Box - Night Sky

Hello,

Today I'm here with another easy DIY project - a sweet box upcycled to a night sky wall decor.

I had this square shaped sweet box that was thick and sturdy, that I wanted to try something out of it. I was inspired by all the shadow box ideas from Pinterest and one particular pins showed a galaxy sky. I immediately brought out the Altenew Watercolor Nebula washitape and within a few minutes, the box was completely covered with this gorgeous galaxy background!

I wish I had more boxes of the same size to make a bigger collage type wall art. But I had just this one, so wanted to decorate it in a unique way. I started by applying Versamark ink through the Altenew City Scene stencil and embossed the skyline with black embossing powder. I then stamped the sentiment from Mudra's Go Confident stamp and heat embossed in gold.

To hang the box, I cut out a rectangular window from the backside of the box, so that it can be held using a push pin. You can see how the washitape and finishing need not be perfect on the backside. I've taped it to the box using normal invisible tape.

That's it, a beautiful wall decor is done!

Here is a quick video to show you how it hangs on the wall.

Do give it a try, you will never throw away those cereal boxes and snacks boxes! I'm sure I'm gonna hoard more now :)
