Inside Tunnel Card + Bhuvi's First Card
Hello,
Today I'm here to share two cards made for my husband's birthday - one from me as usual and another card which is so special, because it is my daughter Bhuvi's first card! Keep reading to see both of them :)
I'm sure everyone who saw Jennifer McGuire's inside tunnel cards fell in love with them! I was super excited and wanted to make one for my better half's special day :) If you are looking for the tutorial, click here.
So this is how the outside of my card looks like. I stamped a cake from Mudra's Let's Party stampset using Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored using distress inks. I then fussy cut the cake, added some glossy accents for some shine and dimension and left to dry.
This stampset is one of my all time favorites and I just love the cake. I've made a few cards earlier using this cake and you can find them here.
For the background, I've used Altenew's Dotted Scales Debossing cover die. The sentiment 'happy' is from Altenew's script dies and it is diecut from Dress My Craft's gold mirror cardstock. I stamped the word 'birthday' from another unbranded stampset, trimmed and attached to the main panel.
Look how awesome the gold mirror cardstock is! I just love it!
And now for the inside tunnel! :)
I started making the inside tunnel card and wanted to include a heart in it. So I've followed the measurements from Jennifer McGuire's tutorial and used nesting dies from Nelli's Choice Multiframe Heart dies for the inside. I diecut different shapes of balloons from PABD's Balloon Mania dies and also The Cat's Pajamas' Balloon Frame dies. I've colored them and attached to the multiple heart layers.
I stamped another sentiment from Mudra's Let's Party stampset on the inside. The top portion of this card is left for personal message.
And here comes my daughter's first card :) Bhuvi is 3.5 years old and she loves sitting beside me when I make cards. Obviously she is attracted by all the craft materials just as I am :) This time, she wanted to make a card too and I'm super glad her first one is for her dad :)
It is a mini card and she drew her dad on it :) This is how he looks to her little cute eyes! :D
On the inside, she wrote her message to him.
More than my card, this one is a treasure and I just love it! :)
Oh, and btw, I didn't want to make a 'masculine' card for my husband, it just has to be full of color and fun just as life should be :)

I've never seen one of these and it's fabulous! I love that you didn't go with a traditionally male theme for your hubby's card! Gorgeous bright colours and quite elegant too, with a super background and glossy gold!
ReplyDeleteBhuvi's card is fantastic! Dad is obviously thin, happy, with spiky hair and arms built for hugs! So wonderful that she's got her Momma's creative streak and can express her feelings through her art! Great job!
Thanks so much for sharing these with us at Penny's!
