Infinite 'Pulli' Kolam for Diwali
Hello,
Today's card is again inspired by the theme 'Infinity' at the 'I Love Math Challenge #13' challenge at Milka's blog.
I have a different take, where the focal point is the 'Infinite Kolam' or 'Pulli Kolam' in the language, Tamil.
As Wikipedia says,
Hailing from Tamilnadu, I've seen my mom, grandma, great grandma and many other relatives draw beautiful kolams everyday. I miss those days when we had so much fun drawing them with colors to celebrate festivals like Pongal, Diwali, Karthigai Deepam, etc.! So today I created one with 'pulli kolam' or 'infinity kolam' to celebrate Diwali festival. I know it is still months to go for Diwali, but a card in hand would be great :)
For my card, I manually drew the kolam using Ranger watermark pen and heat embossed in gold. I then trimmed it in a square shape and adhered to a gold diecut from Gina Marie Stitched Scallop Squares die. I love using Dress My Craft gold mirror cardstock! For the mat layers, I've used the same gold mirror cardstock and also textured white cardstock from Little Birdie. The sentiment is also gold embossed using the Diwali stampset from Mudra. I kept the card CAS to keep the kolam as the main focal point.
