Fin-tastic Birthday

Hello,

I'm here with a quick post today to share a birthday card :) I'm a fan of blue and when I saw the theme Shades of Blue with Your Next Stamp, I knew I had to create one for sure and play along this time!

So here is what I made using my new stash - stamp set and stencil from Newton's Nook Designs!

I've used the Narly Mermaids stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs for the mermaid. It is stamped using Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink and colored using Arteza real brush pens. I then fussy cut the image close to the stamping, to avoid a white border. The mat for the mermaid is an ink blended cardstock - I've used Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean distress inks for the blending. I also have a white scalloped stitched diecut to frame the blended cardstock. 

The main base is a white side folding A2 notecard. And the background is created using Salty Ocean distress ink, along with Seashells stencil from Newton's Nook Designs. I applied a heavy hand with the same ink to show the difference for the stencil work. I then white heat embossed the sentiment from the same mermaid stamp set on a blue ink blended cardstock. The mermaid image and the sentiment are adhered using foam tape for added dimension.

I completed the card by adding glitter to the narwhal and the mermaid's tail using Wink of Stella glitter brush.
