Out of the World - Magic Slider
Hello,
I've got a special card to share with you all today - a magic slider card made for my daughter's birthday :) She turned 4 recently and she wanted me to make her a card with planets and galaxy. So this one is very special as I got to make as per her interests and likes :) And of course, I kept the slider element a surprise! :)
So here it is!
I've used the Altenew Watercolor Nebula washitape for the galaxy backgrounds. The images and stamps are from Joy Clair - Out of this World. I've stamped them using Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I colored the images using Faber Castell connector pens and water color pencils. They are fussy cut and attached to the background using Kokuyo Tape
Glue Dot liner adhesive.
And now for the slider! You pull the ribbon to the right, and here it comes - a magic message! :)
The slider is created using my own measurements after learning the technique through multiple videos on YouTube. It is closest to this one, if you are interested. I wanted to have the galaxy background extend when the slider is pulled, so kept the right end of the frame open.
The earth image is hidden behind the rocket before the slider is pulled. Also, the rocket kinda takes off when you pull, so the flames are also revealed when pulled :) The astronaut is here to wish a blast for the birthday!
Once the slider is ready, I've attached it to a white notecard with a black cardstock as background. I felt something was empty and didn't really know how to fix it. I just started adding a few stars and dots using Uniball Signo white gel pen and went with the flow, forming my own patterned paper look :) Now I am in love with the background!
Here is a video to show how the slider works.
And yes, my daughter loved the card more than I do, she was super excited to see and play with the slider :)
