Washitape Thank You Card
Hello,
Merry Christmas to everyone :)
I'm here today with a card I made to thank my supposedly 'secret' Santa! So we had the fun white elephant game in our office and I was lucky to have some really cool games - a table-top pool table and a table tennis set! My daughter was super excited to play with them and I knew the best way to thank the Santa was with a handmade card!!
So here is the card I quickly made overnight and surprised my Santa the next day :) Don't ask me how I knew who the Santa was, office secrets ;)
I started by covering white cardstock with Painted Fantasy washitape from Altenew. It is so beautiful and gives you a wonderful quick background! I trimmed the cardstock to a size little smaller than A2. I did have some extras that I turned out to another card, which I'll share soon. I then die-cut the word 'thanks' from white cardstock 3 times and pink metallic cardstock once. The layered die-cuts give a great dimension and I love the tiny shadow they cast onto the card base. The die is from Altenew's Script Words 2 dies set.
I arranged the sentiment onto the washitape panel but somehow felt it was lost in the busy background. So here comes vellum to the rescue! I trimmed the required size, wrapped it around the washitape panel and adhered the ends behind using liquid glue. I then adhered the sentiment on top of the vellum. That keeps the focus on the sentiment and tones down the background a bit. The entire panel is then adhered to a top folding pink metallic cardstock base using foam tape for added dimension. I finished the card by adding a couple of pink flower sequins and a soft pink sparkling enamel dot.
I love the shimmer and shine of this metallic pink cardstock. Do you see how beautiful the sentiment is when it catches the light?
