Women Empowerment - Card 1

Hello,

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

During this difficult time and quarantine, I engaged my daughter Bhuvi in cardmaking. She just turned 5 last week. I was making a card for Women's Day blog hop and linky while she wanted to use the stamp I was working with. So here is the first card, the one she made :)

The girl stamp is from Mudra, which I stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut. I gave it to her to color. She wanted a rainbow-colored dress for the girl and colored using Crayola markers. She had earlier seen someone having green-colored hair, so here the girl has green hair too! :) And the girl cannot be without a face right, there she goes with her smiley face :)

Once the coloring was complete, I gave her a scrap cardstock and explained how to do ink blending. On the main panel, she blended a very light blue using Salty Ocean distress ink and a blending brush. And she also did some blending for the grass using Mowed Lawn distress ink. I also taught her how to use a stencil, so while I held it in place for her, she did some stenciling using the clouds and grass. The stencil is from Craftyscrappers - Make A Scene set. I'm happy her first ink blending and stencil work has come out so soft and smooth without any ink patches! Far better than me for sure :)

Bhuvi then added some glue to the fussy cut image and adhered to the stenciled background panel. I then taught her how to use the stamping tool, Stampoholic, which is similar to the Misti. I aligned the sentiment stamps and asked her to ink them and stamp them by closing the door. She did that twice and was excited to see the bold stamping :) We used the Altenew Obsidian black ink, along with the stamp from My Sentiments Exactly 'BE Quick Coloring' set.

She applied glue using a tape runner to the main panel, while I adhered it to a top folding A2 notecard. The card is ready! :)
