WCMD 2018 - Rainbow Eclipse Card

Hello,

Here is my next creation for WCMD 2018 week - an eclipse card using rainbow colors.

This one is very simple to do and it is a common design I feel. I started by creating the colorful rainbow background. On a watercolor paper, sprinkle some generous amount of water. On a piece of acetate, apply inks in stripes in the order of rainbow colors. I've used distress inks here as they work best when interacting with water. Invert the acetate sheet onto the wet watercolor cardstock and let the colors blend by smooshing. This is the easiest way to achieve a beautiful ink smooshing effect.

Once the panel is dry, I've diecut the word 'happy' using Altenew scripts dies. I've also diecut 3 more of the same sentiment from white cardstock and layered to make the word thicker. Attach the watercolor panel to the top folding base card and then offset the layered sentiment on top of it. This offset adds a great interest like a beautiful shadow.

To complete the card, I stamped the word 'birthday' using Versafine Onyx black ink onto a white cardstock and cut the label out. It is attached to the main panel using foam tape for added dimension.

I also made a matching envelope with rainbow colors :)
