1st Birthday - Card in a Box

Hello,

One of my favorite fancy fold or interactive type of cards is the 'Card in a Box' type. How many ever I make, I never get bored of it. It's always new, special and fills one with joy on opening the card :) I made one for my daughter's first birthday and I loved it so much. Check out my first card-in-a-box here! I wanted to do the same for my sister's daughter too, and ended up making this one for her 1st birthday :)



I didn't have much time to prepare so I went with a smaller size and lots of balloons in different shapes. The balloons are diecut from two different die sets - The Cats Pajamas 'Balloon Frame' and Peek-a-boo Designs 'Balloon Mania'. I've attached them using acetate sheet strips.


I wanted to add the number 1 for the 1st birthday but didn't have any dies, so I manually drew a mirrored number 1 on the backside of the gold cardstock and fussy cut it out :)


The base is a metallic blue shimmer cardstock and I went with the color palette of blue, pink and gold :) The patterned papers and stamps used are a mix-and-match from different sets. For gold diecuts, I used the gold mirror cardstock from Dress My Craft. The sentiments are stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I also wrote my niece's name 'Sanvika' using a black marker.





On the outside, I added tiny gold heart diecuts for more interest :)
