Altenew Washitape Florals Birthday Card

Hello,

I'm here with my second entry for Altenew's Inspiration Challenge - Jul.


I started by trimming a white cardstock to 4x5.25inch and covered it with Altenew's Painted Fantasy washitape. I added a strip of pink patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I like the watercolor effect on this sheet and it was a perfect match to my design, and attached it at the bottom of the washitape pattern. I used a thin strip of Dress My Craft's gold mirror cardstock at the place where washitape and patterned paper meet.

Once the main panel was ready, I wanted to add a flower. While I was looking for stamping any flower, I noticed the flower patterned paper from the same Reflections kit. I immediately fussy cut one of them and placed on the main panel. It was lost in the busy background. So I stuck it onto gold mirror cardstock and again fussy cut, so that the flowers have a golden border around them. Now it has a highlight and pops against the background panel of the card.


For the sentiment, I chose the words 'Birthday' and 'Wishes' from Altenew's Mega Greetings stampset. It is heat embossed in gold 4 times. I love the metal embellishment look and added dimension with this technique. Thanks to Jennifer McGuire :)


I adhered everything onto a top folding white notecard, but wasn't happy with the white border. So I added some gold glitter using a 3D glitter paint and let it dry overnight. It gave a beautiful shimmery border and I love this gold!
