Congrats on New Home - Interactive Card

Hello,

I'm here with a new card today, a house-shaped one, made for my friend on their housewarming ceremony. This design is inspired from Pinterest, I've adopted it and made it into a slider.

For this card, I created the base pocket for the slider similar to my Out of the World - Magic Slider card. The pocket is square-shaped and I measured and trimmed an inner smaller cardstock piece for the sliding panel. I've then cut out the roof part of the house and attached to the slider panel. Then it is time to make the door and windows. I haven't used any dies here and they are all manually cut. All these measurements are done by eyeballing and adjustments.

Once the base was ready in white, I trimmed the same measurements on patterned papers in pink and yellow combination and added to the house. I've colored the windows and doors by applying direct ink pad over the cut pieces. I've used the Frosty Pink ink from Altenew for this super light soft pink. For the inside of the windows and the layer on the door, I've used the same patterned paper as the roof.

I then added the chimney part. It is just a piece of white cardstock colored with a light brown marker and white lines drawn using Uniball Signo white gel pen, to resemble bricks on a wall. And in order to let the recipient know it is a slider, I've handwritten the words 'Pull me' on the chimney.

I stamped the fencing in Itsy Bitsy's Little Birdie brown ink from the 'Gnome is where the heart is' stampset from Joy Clair. The 2 little gnomes were also stamped from the same set using Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored using Faber Castell connector pens. They are fussy cut and added near the door. And for the door knob, I used a sparkly pink enamel dot, at the position matching the circle in the patterned paper.

When you pull the slider, it reveals the message part. I've used the Congratulations circle die from Simon Says Stamp. It is diecut from white cardstock and colored using Altenew's Coral Berry ink. The sentiment inside is handwritten using a pink glitter pen and I've added a small red heart too. This inner panel has a patterned paper from Pink Fresh Studio.

And the slider mechanism is restricted by a small hinge mechanism I learnt from one of Jennifer McGuire's videos.
