Magic Circle Spinner Card

Hello,

I'm back after a while to share a special card I made for my daughter Bhuvi's 5th birthday!

So this year, she asked me (read as 'ordered me') to make a magic spinner card! I guess she saw some card while watching Nick Junior :) Btw, if you wanna know what she asked me last year, check out the Magic Slider card using galaxy and planets here! And this year's order also included rainbow and unicorn, so here is what I came up with!

Warning: Picture heavy post! :)

Take a look at the video first to see how interactive it is! :)

The rainbow is diecut from white cardstock using Reverse Confetti 'Over The Rainbow' die set and colored using Arteza real brush markers. I've diecut 2 sets, and adhered to form a circle rainbow. To cover the inner space, I've die-cut a small circle and covered with 2-3 coats of gold heat embossing. It gave a metallic embellishment look. The handle to move the spinner is white cardstock, blended with Salty Ocean distress ink and matted with gold cardstock and a patterned paper strip from Lawn Fawn. Since I didn't have a matching brad, I dipped a silver brad into gold embossing powder and heat embossed it - gave 3 or 4 layers for a smooth finish :) The base of the square notecard is matted with a rainbow plaid patterned paper from Lawn Fawn, and the spinning element is attached to the notecard using foam tape.

As you start turning the handle, the magic reveals the scene underneath. The base of the spinner is a scallop circle diecut from Gina Marie Designs 'Stitched Scalloped Circles' die set.

I've first stamped the unicorn, castle and other images using Altenew Obsidian black ink and colored using Arteza markers. Then I masked the images and blended Salty ocean distress ink along with clouds stencil from Craftyscrappers - Create A Scene stencil set. The stamps are from Mudra's 'Stay Magical' set.

The scalloped circle base needs to be a single layer to have a smooth spinning flow. Initially I had stamped the images, fussy cut and adhered but the spinner was getting stuck whenever it came to a raised surface. So I've also avoided heat embossing here for the images. It is one layer with masking, coloring, stenciling and ink blending :)

The sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Make A Wish' stampset, stamped using Altenew Obsidian black ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

And now for the inside of the card!

I've used a rainbow patterned paper from Altenew's Reflection Collection for the inside. I added a small popup element and adhered a cute bear image with the number 5. It is from Craftyscrapper's 'Birthday Goofers' set. I've stamped the image, heat embossed, colored and fussy cut it. The number 5 is for my daughter's 5th birthday.

The big happy birthday sentiment is also from the same stamp set, stamped in black ink. I've handwritten her name using a Sharpie marker beneath the stamping.

In order to add a personal message, I made another tiny square card and attached to the top of the card. It is covered with a scalloped square diecut matted with another patterned paper.

I completed the card by adding a few enamel dots around the spinner :)
