A Card Full of Love

Hello,

Today's card is my homework for Spring Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes. I've combined Day 4 and Day 7 - Make a statement with sentiments, and Vellum overlay :)

I started by creating the ink blended background. I've used Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean distress inks for the blending. I love the indigo shade where they overlap. I then took Altenew Chevron stencil, misted it with water and placed over the ink blended panel. I left it for a couple of minutes for the design to show through and lifted the stencil. I then wanted a little more interest and ended up misting the entire panel with a fine water spray. But I lost the stencil look it became subtle. You can see the chevron very lightly in the background if you observe closely!

I then die-cut 2 pieces of grid from Studio Katia's grid cover die - once using white cardstock and once from vellum. On the white cardstock, I cut out the grid part and used only the frame, and attached the vellum grid die-cut behind the white frame. I've adhered this over the ink blended background. The vellum overlay is a beautiful technique and I'm loving it :)

My next step involves a lot of die-cutting! I've used the 'love' sentiment die from Heffy Doodle and die-cut from white cardstock 15 times - 3 layers for each word in the design. I layered them on top of each other and attached for a thick dimension. I then die-cut 5 more words from different colored cardstocks, in the same color order as my ink blended background. I loved the ombre effect. I placed the colored sentiment die-cut over the white stacked sentiment, by offsetting it a little, so that the white shows through! This little offset makes a big difference when the sentiment is placed over the busy inked background. I gave a generous coating of Wink of Stella glitter over each die-cut and one layer of glossy accents. This is one of my favorite techniques these days and I love the shimmer!

Once the 5 die-cuts were adhered to the grid panel, I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment from black cardstock. The 'Sending you' is from Altenew's Sentiment Strips stampset and 'A Card Full of Love' is from Heffy Doodles' Bots of Love stampset. I felt this sentiment was perfect for the repeating 'love' design! I adhered the 2 sentiments using foam tape and that completes my card :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you like my card! Do let me know your feedback! Have a nice day :)
