Cistus Flower Slimline Card

Hello everyone,

I'm here today with my DT post at Crafty Meraki store, to share a bold slimline card made using beautiful flowers! Check out the post here as well.

The flowers and leaves are from Altenew Flowering Cistus stampset. I started by die-cutting multiple flowers and leaves using the coordinating die. I then used the negative as a base in my Misti, and stamped the images. I've used 2 sets of inks from Pinkfresh Studio - Heartbeat and Indian Summer. I experimented with a couple of color-layering combinations to get lighter and darker shades. For the leaves, I've used Tropical Forest set of inks from Altenew.

Once all the stamping was done, I moved on to create the background. I chose two shades of blue to get a bolder background for the bright colored flowers. For the bottom layer, I've used Salty Ocean distress ink from Ranger, and for the top layer, I've used a darker shade of reactive ink. I blended the inks using blender brushes, and once I was satisfied with the result, I sprayed a fine mist of water to activate the inks and get a cool effect.

I die-cut the blended background using the largest die from Pinkfresh Studio Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die set. I then arranged the flowers and leaves over the background using strong glue, and foam tape for a couple of flowers, for some added dimension. I prepared the base slimline card out of thick white cardstock and adhered the panel over it. The sentiment is from Altenew's Sentiment Strips stampset, which is heat embossed in white on black cardstock. I completed the card using some sparkling clear droplets, to resemble dew drops :)
