Life's A Beach!

I'm here with a special post today! I'm guest designing for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges today, with the theme Ocean for Challenge #172. Check out all the details here, and do play along!

This is how the inside of the card looks on opening!

Now let me share how I made this card.

I started with a 4.25x5.5 cardstock, masked a portion using purple tape and worked on the clouds first. I've used Craftyscrappers "Create A Scene - Clouds, Land & Grass" stencil along with Speckled Egg Distress ink to make the clouds. I then masked the other side (over the clouds) and began ink blending the bottom portion using their Arctic reactive ink. I love this blue and how it perfectly fits for the beach scene. I also sprayed a fine mist of water over the waters for added effect. 

For the sand, I die-cut a wavy pattern from kraft cardstock using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die and blended with Brushed Corduroy distress ink. I added it over the beach and clouds panel to get the background ready!

I then stamped the images from the 'Life's a Beach' stampset using Altenew Obsidian Black ink, and clear heat embossed them. I colored the images using Arteza real brush pens, fussy cut them and added to the scene. 

Moving on to the inside of the card, I had decided it to be a shadow box and followed one of Jennifer McGuire's videos for the exact measurements. I was also inspired by another crafter Leed's work on Instagram, her shadow box was so adorable! Check it out here!

So for the inside, I created another beach background similar to the front, but changed up the images. I used the girl who is ready to surf, with another palm tree. All the images are stamped, heat embossed, colored and fussy cut. I adhered the inner images using foam tape for added dimension.
