Wall Decor - Sunburst Mirror

Hello,

Here I am with another easy DIY craft, to decorate your wall! Pinterest is filled with inspirations if you are looking for a Sunburst Mirror. Here is my own version of it :)

And this is for my inspiration at A Place to Create Challenge for the month of March, with the theme Unconventional Materials - Use A Household Object/Item.

So I happened to get some of these wooden butter spread spatulas and I immediately knew I had to make a sunburst mirror out of it. I started by arranging the spatulas around a circle diecut to decide on a shape. Here are a few of my trials.

I really liked the design on row 2, column 1 by placing them close to each other but didn't have enough spatulas to complete the design. So I chose the design next to it, in row 2 column 2.

I took thick cardboard from some pizza box and cut out a circle for the base. I started adhering the spatulas to the circle one by one using hot glue. Once it was done, I took another circle cut out and stuck on top so that the spatulas are sandwiched between the circles. I then spray painted the entire art in gold and let it dry.

I've added a 4inch circle mirror in the middle, on top of the cardboard. For each of the outer spatulas, I've attached smaller circle mirrors. This completes the decor piece and it is ready to adorn your wall! :)

The earlier pics were from our previous house, and now we have a contrasting wall in our new house that really is the perfect fit for the sunburst! Here are a couple of pics from our new house now :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you like my sunburst mirror! Do let me know your feedback! Have a nice day :)
